I can confirm your findings as true. Also, the primary mode of attraction is sensitivity to CO2. These fancy skeeter traps you see are primarily carbon dioxide generators... I am still awaiting someone to make on of these anti-mosquito "SDI" laser setups that there was a TED talk on. Part of my property is swampy woods with ponds of standing water from previous meanders of the creek that runs through the parcel... and MY GOD, the mosquitos are horrendous. 40% DEET works... I just hate having to put it all over me.

I wish I could use DEET but I am extremely allergic to it. I have a “mosquito suit” a jacket with a hood and pants. It is from Bugout.com for anyone who wants one. You wear it over your clothes and mosquitoes can’t get through the tough net.
