A copper awl is the oldest metal object unearthed to date in the Middle East. The discovery reveals that metals were exchanged across hundreds of miles in this region more than 6,000 years ago, centuries earlier than previously thought, researchers say.

6000 years ago, 4000 years before Christ.
That IS old, even before the Egyptians.
Apparently OUR very own ancestors Homo sapiens sapiens evolved into what we are today around 200,000 years ago, in Africa.
THAT is even older.
So what we humans doing from 200,000 BC - 4000 B.C.? That is a HUGE chunk of time.
