The following database has been made available by the Law Enforcement Support Office of the Defense Logistics Agency and shows armaments and equipment obtained by local law enforcement officials from the U.S. Military and Department of Homeland Security.
Simply choose your State and your County and you'll have complete access to see how well militarized your local and county police departments are.

I looked up Duval, where I am, and it seems they have quite a lot of what could be termed disaster preparedness supplies.
just curious but what does a county sheriff need with bayonets
Middlesex County, Mass., got an awful lot of “Rifle, 5.56 millimeter” and “Rifle, 7.62 millimeter” for a county that I thought was basically a shell.
A few years ago they talked about getting rid of counties in Massachusetts, or at least diminishing their importance to basically running the county jail. I guess Middlesex County won’t be disappearing anytime soon, huh?
Philly got 13 pages worth of stuff (granted, some of it is flashlights & the like), but counties near me only got a handful of rifles.
BFL
$5.3 million for a fixed wing aircraft? And why does a county need camouflage net (radar scattering)?
Mine detector sets?
$11,500 for a demolition firing device?
$1,000 for a headset/microphone?
Headlights for $1,300 each? Times 8!!!
$733,000 for mine resistant vehicle? I thought they were getting these for free from military surplus!
A lot of 5.56 and 7.62 mm rifles.
$4,900 for a field sink?!!!
Bell County, TX got 5.56 mm rifles for a steal at $499 to $120 each!
Bayonets and combat knives in Philadelphia. Not to mention a “SAW Gunner set” which leads me to think they have a SAW (Squad automatic weapon).

well, my county of small towns is loaded for bear
now....who is the bear?
these guys should be deployed to Iraq to use their new toys
I live in George County, Ms. We got a utility truck, whatever that is. Jackson County is South of us and they have, among other things, two helicopters. Now these two helicopters have been circling over my community in George County for the past week. And they do this for hours.
I assume they are looking for drugs but why is one County operating in another? To me that’s no different than seeing them patrolling in cars.
Some of the WTF? type stuff I saw in my county’s list...
5 GALLON RUBBERMAID JUG 1 EA $20.00
BABY BLANKETS 2 PG $11.51
APRON,FOOD HANDLER’S 23 Package $78.82
A bunch of other misc. crap, some mil-surp, but nothing that is cause for alarm...
“War and drink are the two things man is never too poor to buy.”-William Faulkner
The modern version is “SWAT teams and choochoo trains are two things cities are never too poor to buy”.
I wondered about that too
