I’ve got a Mossburg 12 gauge, the ‘Maverick’ with the ‘Remington’ safety on the trigger-guard, not on the top of the receiver.
I removed the stock so I could put on a top-folding ATI stock with attached extra shell clips. And I got an 18 1/2” barrel (Cabelas?) and pistol grip too.
If you aren’t very big you might try that rig in a 20 gauge. Racking a shotguns slide is like putting a laser on a sternum: it should make intruders re-think their plan,
but if not, they should be put down pretty quickly by a 20 gauge loaded with buckshot.
