How in the world can you pull that from the story? What if her husband has died?
This lady is chumming with the girls, encouraging them to be willing to try doing what the guys might normally do. You and I can’t live forever. If it were possible that you could ever marry a great lady, wouldn’t you want her to be able to cut wood or, maybe even defend herself with a freaking gun? What if YOU died? Would you want her to be helpless?
Because I come from farm country where women can do this and 10X more and don’t think a thing about it, because it’s the culture and we were all raised from birth to do it, not make a big deal about it.
The bigger question is why doesn’t she know how to do this stuff already? Most women living in previous generation in Alaska likely would have. Why trumpet something that’s not really gold star worthy?
That is the biggest problem with women today and younger ones especially - everything is O...M...F...G, sooooo dramatic, important, look-at-me and just has to be given a shout out as such...a...big...deal.
The other thing is the ‘I don’t need a man bcuz I’m independent now’ WTF is that? WHAT IS THAT? Is that the only reason she wants a man, because he can do something for her? Is she really that cold blooded and sociopathic toward another human being? Am so tired of self-absorbed, conniving and calculating women just angling to get what they can get however they can get it.
