Former NFL quarterback Chris Simms believes that Colin Kaepernick receives unfair criticism. Simms got a chance this week to ask Kaepernick why that might be and Kaepernick says it comes down to two things: 'stereotypes' and 'prejudice.'
In case you haven't noticed, Kaepernick isn't shy about showing off his tattoos. The 49ers quarterback also likes to wear his hat backwards -- and he thinks both those things are part of the reason why he's unfairly criticized.

walk talk and look like a scumbag..... then wonder why .... ?
I believe Kaepernick’s tattoos are bible verses.
I knew the media would bash Kaepernick because he’s an unabashed and open Christian, I just didn’t know so many Freepers would join in. I guess his being pro-life just makes it so much worse.
I prejudiced against “mobile QB’s”. They are a quick fix for offensive coordinaters looking for the “Big Play”. All too often you get a bunch of turnovers instead. Then there are the injuries.
And when the “mobile QB” hits his developmental ceiling that same coordinator wants him to stay in the pocket & throw, don’t hold the ball so much, etc.
I said I don’t care about his tats or hats. But guys making millions of dollars playing a game need to just play ball and quit whining. He’s in San Fran and he’s not Joe Montana! He should ask Steve Young about that. Steve Young was an awesome QB, but he could not replace Joe. Sports writers are old men who never were good enough to play the game. The kid needs to ignore them.
Plus they tend to get hurt.
I didn’t like him that much because the lefty announcers so badly wanted him to be the best thing since sliced bread. They talked him up so much after 1/2 a season. After an entire season last year, he proved himself to be.....average. Not the best, not the worst. Definitely not elite!
Colin, let your talking be on the filed and quit whining!
As long as he has horrible performances against the Eagles, I wish him good luck. The Eagles have a nice kid at quarterback. I wish him better luck.
LOL, we watch the Vikings who I wish had ANY quarterback and the Broncos. Manning is great, but he seems to choke in the big games.
What kind of drug are you on? The lefty announcers hated Kaepernick from day 1. As I guess they should, since he’s an unabashed Christian and testament against abortion. Those guys favored Russell Wilson from day 1.
LOL! News flash Nick. Colin is being bashed here because he played "The Race Card" to deflect criticism of his on field play!
Wasn’t aware he was a brother. I regret publicly criticizing him. There are times (most) when I should keep my own Council.
No drugs, simmer down pal. Russell is a Christian too. It cannot be denied the announcers have talked Colin up. A look at facts and statements will easily prove that.
He has a chance to prove himself this year after an average year last year.
yes..immature egotist. He needs some of Montana’s grace under pressure.
Kaepernick hasn’t received 10% of the hype Wilson has. Goodell absolutely hates Kapernick: an outspoken Christian, who was adopted, and from a conservative part of the country. If Kaepernick had a halfway decent offensive coordinator he’d imagine what would be.
Did you ever see Joe Montana play? I think Kaepernick has shown a lot of Montana's grace under pressure. In the first three playoff games Kaepernick ever started, his teams were down by big scores, and Kaepernick took it on his shoulders and brought them backHe was very Montana-like. Kaepernick is very humble. Montana is humble to the point of shyness sometimes.
Well..Montana would never flex his arms after a touchdown nor wear huge tatoos all over his arms. That is just ego stuff.
He does’t play as clutch as Montana..come on now
Is he running for President?
