That's the problem with the cops' position here. All the evidence they've given that the sooting was justifiable is the allegation that Brown tried to steal the cop's gun. Fine; that would give the cop a right to fire at Brown to stop the attempted theft, just as George Zimmerman had the complete right to fire at Martin to stop Martin from trying to beat his brains out. However, the outcome of the M/Z case would have been much different if Martin, although shot, had started to ruin away and Zimmerman had shot him while running. As of now, that's what it looks like happened here. If the cop fired additional shots at Brown after Brown broke off the confrontation, then the the cops need to explain why those later shots were justified. Unfortunately, thusfar the cops haven't stated how many later shots, if any , were fired and what the justification, if any, there was for firing them. Indeed, that's why there's a huge difference between this case and M/Z.

The fact that the Police Chief, Union Rep & Lawyer have not even uttered the word 'justified' with any fact to date doesn't bode well for the officer.

You want to give the LEO the benefit of the doubt, but the longer there isn't any facts presented in the officer's defense, the more my skepticism rises.

...and if the autopsy confirms shots in the back, well that would be murder.
