I think all racing should have spotters. I’m a spotter for my DH’s race team. In the class of cars we run - it’s mandatory.
If a division doesn’t allow spotters (which I think is dangerous), the drivers should be mandated to have gear to listen to the track officials for crash cautions, debris - fluid on the track and to get the lineup correct after cautions...instead of having track officials themselves walking onto the track to try to get a restart lineup correct during a caution.
A lot of sprint car races require radio comm with track officials. I just don’t know if all of them do or if this particular one does.
