It gets more difficult to post if things are going to hell in a handbasket. Alternatively, there may be other logistical difficulties, inaccuracies inherent in communications and services breakdown in country, which reflected elsewhere might cause either panic, or prevent/discourage the sort of help they really need: personnel and equipment.
Or there might just be some sort of screwup.
