I’m always been proud of myself for this:
I was watching Obama’s DNC speech in 2004, but when he got to the part where he spewed out all the nonsense about:
Not red states and blue states, but the United States. Not black American and White american, but one America, etc., etc., ...
or however all that Utopian nonsense went. When he got into all that, I turned off the television because he was spewing a lot of Utopian nonsense that had nothing to do with the reality of a free society where people have individual freedoms and rights to criticize their government. And there will always be disagreements and divisions in free societies.
The closest societies to what Obama was blathering about were Stalin’s USSR and Mao’s China and a few others. That’s the only place you can have all the ‘unity’ and absence of disagreement.
I knew I’d been listening to a hyper-leftist, Utopia spewing liar and he’s been making me look very wise every since that night. Unfortunately for the nation.
Back in 2007 one of the smartest guys I know told me “the American people will never vote in a guy from Kenya named Hussein”.
In 2012 I posted on FR “the American people will never re-elect a POTUS with 8% unemployment (13% real), $4 gas, surging food prices, and trillion dollar deficits to the endo of time”
We were both badly underestimating the power of the Chicago Mob.
I worked as a TV Tech Director at the 2008 DNC. I remember
B-HO painting his pretty verbal canvas of platitudes and centrist rainbows - and looking to my left and to my right as my own TV crew started to get enrolled. I remember thinking “wtf, seriously?”. I was alone amongst tens of thousands of alien zombies. (I’m just thankful that I got to gawk at Megyn Kelly for a while. :) )
Fortunately I missed the speech but it was sure obvious what kind of guy he was once his activities in Chicago and Illinois politics, race and religion began to be revealed.
Apparently there are a lot of people willing to overlook facts when it comes to politics and power.
