(Am on smartphone now but link is above, speculation news talk 104.7 WPGB Pittsburgh may, may, flip to country...just a heads up)
>>The country fans of yesterday arent the country fans of today, who are predominantly 17 to 28 and female. The primary reason for them going there is to party and secondary to that is to listen to the music
They will go somewhere else.
I listen from time to time to the CBS owned WDSY via iTunes. I am listening now to Rush via another CBS owned station, WTIC AM.
Looking at article now. Would be slapping those young ladies some “common sense” into their heads from this “mature c and w fan” way passed 35.
At same concert one attendee has been accused of rape though his lawyer claimed it was consensual. Letter writer to Bos Herald said 10 min after they were seated a teen started projectile vomiting 3 feet from them...
Bos Herald:
>>A 17-year-old girl was raped possibly as onlookers shot cellphone videos at a wild, alcohol-fueled country music show at the Xfinity Center on Saturday night, authorities say, and the Mansfield selectmen chairman said town officials are working to prevent a repeat of the debauchery that marked the Keith Urban concert.Sean Murphy, 18, pleaded not guilty to rape and was ordered held on $10,000 bail. Prosecutiors say the incident occurred at the Xfinity Center in Mansfield while fans of the country music superstar Urban looked on. The alleged rape was stopped when a woman intervened, according to authorities. Murphys attorney maintained his clients innocence.
>>Put simply, this was a consensual act, not a sexual assault, said attorney Neil Crowley, in a prepared statement. There are no allegations of force or violence against him. This was a private act that regrettably occurred in a public place. Mr. Murphy deeply regrets this incident, and I am sure the young woman does as well. This young woman was neither intoxicated nor overcome by drugs at the time.
Alcohol-related issues sent 22 fans to the hospital and 50 into protective custody, while several others including Murphy faced charges, authorities said. A half-dozen police and fire departments responded to the venue to assist Mansfield as dozens of fans of Urbans Raise Em Up Tour fell ill, passed out and injured themselves, authorities told the Herald after the show.
As expected WPGB 104.7 changed to country
as Big 104.7 about 3 pm today and WJAS 1320
is expected to pick up the displaced talk shows.
Details later
