“The blood supply and especially the FFP used for hemophiliacs were out there spreading it as well.”
You are correct in this. People with Hemophilia/coagulation disorder amounts to roughly 1% of aids infections. It’s interesting that of the heterosexual cases of HIV infection, the occurrence in sex partners of those with that condition amounts to roughly 2%. I’m not sure exactly why.
Maybe because hemophiliacs are given factor concentrates that draw from multiple donors rather than just one like a blood transfusion. But I thought you knew everything.....
HIV can and is spread by heterosexual sex, from mother to child, and from ways not related to anal sex or drug use by the ultimate victim. Ive seen it multiple times, and started practicing 30 years ago before AIDS was even known as a diagnosis. It was at that time called GRID (gay related immunodeficiency). I have a lot of experience with treating infectious diseases over those years. Once it reaches endemic levels in the population, which thank God has not happened here, spread by heterosexual sex and other methods may even outpace spread by anal sex.
