I am building up emergency supplies slowly. What prepper dehydrated foods do people recommend?
Canned foods are the cheapest way to go. I dehydrate some of my own and seal it in canning jars.

Walmart started sell Augason Farms food on the website with free shipping for orders over $50.00.
I don’t recommend ‘kits’ as I believe you are better off buying the fixings and cooking, less waste more variety.
As mentioned above, Augason Farms is a dehydrated/freeze-dried food company...but it can get expensive. Your best bet is to go directly to the Augason website and buy from them WHEN it’s on sale. The Isite has a “deal of the day” every day...one product that’s on sale for about 30% off. That can come in handy for case purchases - one item...not so much.
They also have big sales occasionally. Right now there’s a 40% off sale on 30 different items. That ends tonight. They have other sales too, on a regular basis. They add reasonable shipping.
Prices are never reasonable for this kind of good, but judicious purchasing during these sales can save you money.
Besides Wal-Mart’s...I think Sam’s, BJ’s and maybe even Kmart sells Augason.
Mountain House.
As others have said, dehydrated foods are expensive so think of it as another form of food storage with it’s own pros and cons. The pro is it takes up less room than canned goods and may have a longer shelf life. Other than the higher cost, the cons are the serving sizes are too low on calories and the reconstituted amount may be smaller than advertized (see the proof on imstillworkin’s youtube on that). As for personal taste, purchase single cans from various companies and try them out on your family to see which they like or can’t stand before stocking up.
