I don’t know what happened to this couple and their child, but with respect to the stories about witchcraft and drug deals, I have not seen a story that engages in more unsupported conjecture in a long, long time. Its sensationalism based on nothing.

Oh, I quite agree; the sensationalistic aspect of the story is classic tabloid press - the story could as well have been out of the National Enquirer back in the 70s.

But it’s certainly a mystery. Personally, I lean towards financial troubles driving the Jamisons toward desperate measures, and somehow, things went horribly wrong and all of three them ended up dead. Again, just my opinion, but that certainly wouldn’t be the first time that’s ever happened.
