Absolutely. I live in Vegas and rarely over spend. Of course if one gambles and eats in the hotel restaurants, shops in the casino malls... well expect to be severely separated from your money. The are so many places just off the Strip that a short cab ride will save one a lot of money to still do great shopping and dining. Too many people don’t do a little homework or planning before coming here.

When I went to Vegas in 2000, it was play for comps. Don’t know if it is still that way. Whenever I go, I go to lose money this way I am not disappointed.

Too many people dont do a little homework or planning before coming here. Agreed. There's some great places out on the fringes that are a great deal. Though... I gotta say that I've found some spectacular bargains right on the strip too.
