At least in this scenario for any kids produced, you know the father is one of the two, and a DNA test can prove which.

Those kids produced from artificial insemination will never know who the "bull" was, and never have access to half of their genealogy.

Isn’t that the case for any adopted child? Even if the birth mother’s identity is eventually known, the sperm donor usually never is.

Saw a WW1 movie produced in France while the war was still on. A French soldier’s wife is raped by the Germans while he is at the front. She gives birth to a girl & when the poilu comes home on leave, he wants to kill the child because she is both the product of rape and half German.

The mother protects the girl and says, “I will raise her to be French”. Later the husband is killed in action & she marries a man who is more understanding.

I’m not a big fan of bloodlines. We are what we make of ourselves. Yes, it sometimes helps to “choose one’s ancestors wisely”.
