[ If you do that you become the parasite that most (if not all) of us despise.Stopping work because youve reached a reasonable retirement age (or have won the lottery) or because of a *genuine* health issue is absolutely fine.Otherwise....no respect from *me*. ]
Just because I entertain such thoughts doesn’t ever mean I will act upon them, but I do war game out these things.
My comment sounded mean and I didn’t mean for it to - I understand your post - somedays it does seem like we are idiots for working and paying taxes.
Never said you did....but I sincerely apologize if my poorly worded response gave you the wrong impression.
One scenario I'm mulling is "retiring" in two years when I hit 62: be a double-dipper, and work part time (up to the SS limit).
I'm just tired of the same old BS I've put up with for 40 years. The flexibility/ability to "take this job and shove it" can't be underestimated.
I won't be idle, my youngest son will be a HS freshman, and my grandson will be entering first grade. There will be plenty of activities to keep me busy.
The very least I can do is spend some of my time helping out the local Tea Party.
