I work in tech and thought “Halt and Catch Fire” might have something interesting.

NAAAH. Bailed within the first 15 minutes.

If you don’t like TV, why would you choose to click on this thread and smugly tell others their lives aren’t as rich as yours since you haven’t watched TV since man walked on the moon? Hm?

I am heavily addicted right now to a very weird and extremely well done show by BBC America (takes place in Canada) called Orphan Black. NO SPOILERS PLEASE. I wish I could binge watch but I am lucky to get time for one episode a day.

And Breaking Bad was the best series ever on TV. Not family friendly. But best. It gets into your psyche. Now when I hear that song that was in the finale I get chills and even tears. What’s it called? “Baby Blue?” The show was in the end an amazing psychological piece about the meaning of life, and what actions a human can take that sells his soul to the devil, and what gives life meaning. How to live and how not to. Roots of evil. Why “partying” might make you a victim. It was smart and addictive and spellbinding.

About 28 new series were canceled (some pulled after only a few episodes) last season.

About 40 new series flopped during the season that just ended.

Many of the new one, I turn off about half-way or less during the premier.

The 24 renewal has been pretty good for an adrenaline rush.

The renewed Dallas got old — drill on Southfork, don't drill on Southfork.

Many of the new series, even those that seem to be ‘hits’, are based on premises that are preposterous. I get so tired of the petite female lead LEO/FBI agents who try to seem tough. It doesn't work but we are still in the TV-land of men-are-wimps/women-are-strong. They are almost as bad as reality tv.

Interesting for like the first 3-4 eps. Then it gets real dumb. The cops in the series are preternaturally dense.

The lead actress has kind of a Helen Mirren vibe.

I love how people come on these threads to talk about how they don’t watch TV or movies. They sound so morally superior. Kind of like how liberals act.

I usually watch stuff 7 1/2 years after it is popular..

However I am sorry you dislike Halt and Catch Fire as I am engrossed in the question of whether a new computer can be invented before the whole cast goes nuts. I googled new computer and it seems nothing has been accomplished in the last 36 years. I guess it must be fiction

Must miss:

Halt and Catch Fire: was okay until Lee Pace made out with another dude. Instant delete.

The Last Ship: more gay agenda, this time with A-Team bad guys who fire from a helicopter onto people on foot and on snowmobile and can’t hit them. I lasted about 20 minutes until the gay ensign told her commanding officer about missing her girlfriend.

Crossbones: I don’t know about agenda, but this was just plain boring. Black Sails is much better, though that, too, is lesbian heavy.

...

On the other side, Breaking Bad and the recent Fargo were great. I watch Falling Skies, but it’s more guilty pleasure than actually good. This season is not terrific so far.

Looks like many halted on Halt and Catch Fire. Male homo scene in 2nd episode was cheap and gratuitous. ctrl alt delete it.
