“Can corn in a pot really work?”

It did for me last year.

I had rows and rows (about 250 corn plants) all in containers and I had a bumper crop. But I did Silver Queen which gets 8’+ tall and mine certainly got at least that tall and some of my rows began toppling over and I had to use my tomato stakes to get the corn stalks propped back up. This year I went with White Mirani from Park Seed which isn’t supposed to grow as tall and which also matures in less time.

And I’ve already had ripe tomatoes (Sun Gold cherries) and I have a ton more that I’ll be picking soon. Home grown tomatoes before the 4th of July in the Pacific Northwest is something of an accomplishment, I think.

So they can sustain roots in the small pot, huh? I wish I knew this. There’s always next year.

Yep! I figure I'm at least three weeks away from the first pick - although if this weather holds that may shorten up a bit.

Oh, and FTR I think I'm in zone 7
