Habit burger. I tried it. It was over priced and not very good.

Who wants a hamburger when you can have a pork tenderloin sandwich?

I kind of like the humble McDonald’s 79 cent cheeseburger, especially from a competent franchise. In no way does it pretend to be a Five Guys burger. Totally different category. I like the basic formula with the onion bits and the tangy pickle slices. One of its virtues is that you can eat it with one hand while driving to a business meeting without worrying about it drippig stuff on your tie. It also is perfect in an airport when you’re jogging to make your connection.

Captain Obvious pix please?

Actually, I know McD’s is tiny and flimsy and thin and supposed to be bad, thus. However, I love them.

Not a big fan of burgers, per se, but I do love fast food, and the faster it is for me, the better the burger. I prefer a Wendy’s or McD’s any day to homemade or restaurant burger. Even when they put bacon on it. So I don’t eat many burgers outside an FF place.

I probably have poor taste but I''ll take a McDonald’s hamburger (double quarter pounder with cheese) over any of the others, I just like the taste, but all is not lost I think their fries and shakes are nasty. 5 guys fries in a greasy bag are my choice followed by Chick-fil-A waffle fries and Arby's curly fries..

The real crappy burger is from Dairy Queen IMHO.

Their stuff is cheap and saves the masses from starvation.

I just wish there were more fiber in the buns.

I actually find McD’s basic non angus hamburger easy to digest. And yes they do what you said.

Last Mickie D’s I had tasted grainy ... or had the consistency of grainy.

That’s BS. I remember that thread. However, they have NEVER given Heinz credit and in no way is the McD’s ketchup from Heinz. No way. It is sweeter and a bit thinner. It is not Heinz.

The problem with Five Guys is the people they have working behind the counter. How do they get so many gang-bangers, and criminals to accept entry level employment? When the cashier rings up my bill, I instinctively hide my wallet while I gather the cash so I don’t get rolled in the parking lot as I leave.

McDonald’s did get a measure of revenge — its McGriddle breakfast sandwich beat Taco Bell’s Waffle Taco in a mouth-to-mouth test.

Well, I guess you should take your victories where you can get them. Ray Kroc would have been so proud.

Ate at a del Taco about a year ago in Florida. Got tacos. They were way better than the Taco Bell tacos, and rivaled the Bette food truck and taco stand tacos I’ve had.

McDonald’s here sells double hamburgers for 89 cents, and for that, it is just delicious.

Tell me about it, ours is right smack on the border of 2 gang territories, they had a few incidents, not a place to go after dark.

My guess is that McDonalds has a specification for its ketchup — percentage of corn syrup, percentage of acetic acid, percentage of tomato paste, percentage of salt — and gets it from any number of OEM suppliers. Their goal these days is consistency. They don’t want noticeable variations from one supplier to the next. I’d be surprised if the ketchup packs that come with your fries are necessarily supplied by the same manufacturer that supplies the ketchup that goes on the burgers.
