So what you're saying is that people will need more maturity before they should be allowed to live longer.

Robert Heinlein wrote of people like that. He called them the "Howard Families".

But they didn't want to take over, just live longer. And eventually they found it expedient to simply leave, and go to other worlds.

It's a cautionary tale that Mary Shelley never got around to telling us; in the Kingdom of Mortals, the Immortal will be hounded, persecuted, and destroyed.

Unless you destroy your persecutors first at the initial conflict.
And leave no trace of the aggressors, they simply vanish.

Soames gets to experience some persecution, but he has the ability to hide for awhile within society before being forced to flee.
