1. Were poorer than our parents were at our age
Few people have been through as many economic ups and downs as the members of Generation X. Born between 1965 and 1980, any entered the workforce during the boom years of the Clinton administrationbut then along came 9/11 and, a few years later, the Great Recession.

I’m sorry, old boy, I was just taking a rest from carrying that debt burden you laid on my shoulders. ;-]
You’re just mad about the yacht payments I’m making through Medicare. I NEED that dockside in the Barbados for my health. Sure, those little kids in the ‘burbs are gonna starve but dang it, there’s my tan to consider!
It sure is!! Especially if you hit yourself in the eye. So I’ve been told.
Your post was written too confusingly to address, as far as why they had to draft for WWII, that is simple, the Army needed people, and that means infantry.
You keep trying to personalize an attack, evidently you have some personal, grudge that retain and carry with you from thread to thread, perhaps a list of your enemies or something, but I have no idea who the heck you are.
You also did not understand the post of mine that you agreed with.
Since you have clearly NOT read FDR's EO regarding the draft, or understood the situation surrounding it, your comments are worthless.
Good day, sir.
Being baffled by your personal attacks and your raw anger, I looked at your short nooby posting history to see if we have ever discussed this before, but I didn’t see anything.
It seems that you must be a retread with some lingering anger over your past freeper name.
As far as the draft and WWII, I’m very familiar with it, and I know why the draft was needed, it was to get the men where the military wanted them, not where they they wanted to enlist to, the ground forces needed masses of men that were not eager to enlist to serve in the ground forces, so after a time, enlistments were ended and the men were drafted and assigned.
Now that I’ve walked a mile in your flip flops I can see your point.
