Thank you so much for the comment. I have been fighting for two weeks now to get Cody in to see the infection disease doctor. We finally got an appointment set up for the 25th of this month and he is on a list to be seen earlier if someone cancels. I can’t understand why this doctor wouldn’t be a bit more concerned since the foot doctor was so desperate for Cody to be seen so quickly. It must be an area issue as it seems the doctors here have a lack of compassion and concern for the patient. Still having issues with weeping, crusting, oozing even though I have cleaned it every day, 3 times a day. It’s still red and swollen. The skin next to the nails are so swollen they nearly cover half his toenail. I can put the tip of a cotton swab into the space where it is covering the edge of the nail. I called the insurance company and explained the situation and they are unwilling to give...they still refuse to approve the meds that were originally prescribed to him. I asked about other antibiotics and was told there are many that won’t work for this...since this is in the toes, there are certain antibiotics that have to be used or you are just wasting time and giving his body immunity to those antibiotics. I am stuck at this time waiting for this doctor to get him in. I just pray it isn’t too late for his toes.
Very disturbing. Prayers continue...
Lord, we pray for your healing!
Is the oozing and swelling not any better at all? If not, it does seem odd that ID wouldn’t see him on an emergency basis.
Hopefully they’ll have a cancellation and he’ll be seen earlier.
You may have answered this, but if they believe there’s the chance of MRSA, have there been any tests run, a culture done?
