The complaints about Walmart including “wage inequality” and “Walmart is destroying small business” are largely a result of the fact that most of the employees are not unionized. Dems still have most of the employees but there are no union crooks taking wages to support Dem election efforts through union dues.
The NY Slimes will be out of business within the next decade as its business model (supporting liberal Dem causes and not covering all the news) is unsustainable.

I shopped at WALTON’S back in the late 1950s and early 1960s when it was just a Mom and POP store on the west side of the square in Bentonville.
Sam had a chance to buy some bankrupt BEN FRANKLIN stores, took the chance and started WALMART.
He broke the economic stranglehold of the CHICKEN MEN in this area. You worked for them at their starvation wages r you didn’t work.
The CHICKEN MEN started importing legal Mexicans into this area when their workers deserted to Walmart.
Now the children of those Mexicans work for Walmart and the Chicken Men are importing Africans to do the work. They have also been forced to raise their wages to compete with Walmart.
WALMART has been good for this area.
I have NEVER worked for WALMART or SAM’S.
How did WALMART destroy the MOM and POP stores? It was explained to me back around 1962 by a teacher before there was a WALMART.
He said that every town had two dime stores, two shoe stores, two hardware stores, ect. The purpose was to show there was competition for business in town.
HOWEVER, these same stores had under-the-table handshake deals not to cut each other’s prices and keep prices HIGH. The local CITY FATHERS also got their cut by keeping real competition out.
So, Walmart would buy just outside of town, build their store and their lower prices would kill the high dollar stores in town.
Poor people found that they could purchase more goods on their meager pay check at WALMART than at Joe and Mable’s high dollar dime store.
As for Chinese goods, many other stores have them.

So don’t blame WALMART for Chinese goods. When Congress made China a MOST FAVORITE NATION to trade with, WALMART was still just small stores.
