"The American psychedelic blues-rock band Blue Cheer recorded their version of "Summertime Blues" in 1967. Is a song co-written and recorded by American rockabilly artist Eddie Cochran. It was written in the late 1950s by Cochran and Jerry Capehart. Originally a single B-side, it was released in August 1958and peaked at number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 on September 29, 1958." .....WIKI;

When Gene Vincent played the Toronto Peace Festival (booked with Little Richard, Bo Diddley, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Chuck Berry as well as The Plastic Ono Band, the Doors, and others), Alice Cooper's band reportedly did his backing band duties.
I was14 when I first heard Blue Cheer’s version of Summertime Blues...they performed it on the Steve Allen Show (ahhh, remember when tv was all class??)I liked Blue Cheer’s version, which tipped me off to Eddie Cochran’s original,...I love ‘em both!! In fact, thst’s the only kind of Rock n Roll I listen too anymore.
The drummer looks like cousin itt of the Adam’s family!
If it’s the same Alice Cooper band that backed Lou Reed on Rock n Roll Animal, they are renown for their chops. RnR Animal and Lou Reed Live are the best things he ever did in my opinion, because of that band. Steve Hunter and Dick Wagner are beasts on the dual lead guitar.

I don’t know here is some video reportedly from Alice Cooper’s band’s own set (I know there was a lot of film footage shot by DA Pennebaker). Doesn’t sound like they were in the band at that time...

Yeah, I think you are right. I think the Hunter/Wagner team became the Alice Cooper band after 1973, even though they were supposedly ghosting on the studio albums before that. ‘69 is too early.
