They are and serve a purpose, just not in captivity for anything other than research. In my humble opinion.
I thought there was a law against bringing those things over here. If not there ought to be. I’d say a minimum of five years for possession, and 15 or so for trafficking— no possibility of parole. Legitimate research facilities could be exempted but should be closely monitored.
Mambas, cobras and the like make our pit vipers look like kittens. I doubt there’s a snake on earth that couldn’t thrive somewhere in the Southern US. Keeping them out is one of the few services the government could render.
Well, commonsense must be used by anyone studying snakes in captivity (and in the wild too, obviously)...I just find them fascinating...more so than any other kind of snake. They’re beautiful, exotic, and oh so deadly.
