Sonoma county is beautiful but race day breakfast of 3 glazed old-fashion donuts and a foot-long oak-smoked spicy hotdog doesn't cut it. Sat in the main grandstand; didn't see Gilcrist at the driver's meeting (which is a dog and pony show for celebrities) as there were 2000 people at the meeting. Halfway thru the race we wondered up to the bridge btn turns 1 & 2 and had a blast watching the cars race by practically under our feet. Got back to the hotel within 40 minutes after the end of the race - thank you Prime Sport Travel - and had a couple from Singapore who came to the U.S. just to watch the race. I asked him what he thought about the race on the way back to the hotel and he said it was the best day of his life.

Lady Bender's surgery went very well and may come home today. Can I wash paper plates and plastic forks safely in the dishwasher?
