I completely agree with you.
BOTH of our last two presidential candidates on the Republican side, have fought (desperately at times) to beat every one of their (Republican) rivals.
Then BOTH of them, once opposed by Barack Obama, quieted right now and didn’t run against him, with anywhere near the same determination. In fact, it was almost as if both of them, lost on purpose.
McCain did a great thing in picking Palin as his running mate in 2008. Other than that, I cannot think of why I would conclude they hadn’t both deliberately run to capture the GOP candidacy, then throw the election (almost as if on purpose) to Barack Obama.
I know that is not likely. But both of them, acted as if they really did not want to beat Obama nearly as badly, as they wanted to with the GOP candidacy.
To heck with the GOP if that is how we end up running people.
I say we keep a very clear eye on Palin, and I think she should run (against) the GOP in 2016.
I know a lot of people here disgree with that, but I’m all in favor of a Palin insurgency.

Considering the extremely poor performance of Sarah Palin’s “Handlers” and how they reacted when she “went rogue” I think Sarah’s talent caught them off guard.
She wasn’t supposed to be a good pick!
