"I tried to explain a couple of days ago about her science class. She said the teacher said the Big Boom theory was the correct way the earth was formed.

After class she told the teacher that she did not agree with that theory. (Good for her) I tried to tell her that on tests she needed to answer questions according to what was being taught but she could make a statement that it was not her belief."

For any proper thinker, poet, or someone who wants to get a decent grade, the secret to success is synthesis.

When God said, "Let there be light ..."

The light that came to be was noticed some time later by these folks:
A Brief History of Time

and there are other parallels as well.

For example, that "Go forth and multiply ..."

Now that's something that will get the "Environmentalist"s undies all bunched up.

They want us to stop! Just stop! There are too many people already!

But I don't see any of them leading the way to a lower population level, and they aren't even very cooperative with those of us who would like to visit other worlds.

They seem to act like "dogs in the manger", not caring whether anyone else is happy or not, as long as their own sinecure is untroubled.

The cure for a sinecure is not more sin, by the way, it's more real work.
So if your favorite theory doesn't match the most popular one, it might be helpful to see where they coincide, and try to accept that as a place where agreement can be made.

And by the way, even for those who accept the Big Bang Theory as a correct way to look at things, the Earth was not made in the Big Bang. The Earth is made up of stuff that got scattered around for a long, long time, like debris in a storm gutter, until there was enough of it to put together in a big mud ball.

It's more like a cobweb world, making its way in a big, big Universe mostly by being too insignificant to do anything else with.

When Marissa told me about the science class, she told me that if she took a box of Legos, shook them real good and then threw them on the floor, she would still have Legos. She would not have houses, cars and trees.

Simple? Yes, but she has her argument down pat. LOL
