I’m barging into your conversation about the red dress, lol. I know it sounds strange but I have never, ever, had a solid black dress!
They always talk about the ‘must have’ little black dress but I never wanted one. Guess I like color too much.......but I do wear very subdued clothes when necessary.

I noticed that it was cooler last evening! Maybe forcasting a bad winter! Who knows, but it’s usually terribly hot all through September down here. Glad you had a little rain anyway, it perks up the plants.
All the birds sound so nice. I love them too. Don’t think I’ve ever told you that I haven’t been able to hear a birds song or tweet in 20 years or so and I do miss that.
I didn’t always have one. I do have an old classic one in the closet if needed.
I know about your hearing loss. I had hoped your newer hi tech hearing aids might let you hear a bird sing again.

Note : follow the sizing chart. I ordered “large” in a Susan Graver shirt before because I always get a large at dept. stores, but should have went with the QVC chart measurements and got a medium. The medium is the right size from this designer, not my universal large I’ve worn most of my adult life.

Speaking of birds and such,,,I was grazing my horse near my birdbath today and he enjoyed splashing his warm fuzzy nose in the water and taking a little drink. It was the largest visitor my birdbath has ever had, about 1200 pounds.

No, my hearing loss was even too bad for the best hearing aids and that is what I have now - as you know.
You get used to - what you get used to! Lol.
That dress is pretty and I like the way it drapes on the left waist. Good price too. Family and friends were always buying me T-shirts from festivals and other places and most were a size large.
They were always way too big at the bottom and I started pulling the hemline to the left hip and tying it in a knot. It looked cute that way and friends started asking how to ‘do it’, lol. Later, they started selling fancy clip things to use for that.
Lol, I’m having coffee and some Ritz crackers as I write!

I am really tempted to get that dress in a medium so I have a black dress for (strangely enough) funerals and weddings. My niece got married a year ago, and her mother wore a stunning simple black dress to the wedding. I never thought of wearing black to a wedding, especially if you’re mom of the bride. But she looked fabulous and modern and chic in that dress. I wore what I thought was a nice print dress, but it looked horrible and frumpy in the pictures I saw. I got that dress at Kohl’s. I really thought I liked that dress, until I SAW the pictures! ARG. This black dress at QVC looks great, but might be a tad long. It is very elegant though. I’d need to wear heels. I wore flats with my print dress and that no doubt didn’t help much, they were frumpy. I may have to break my rule and wear heels again for rare occasions! I will search for black heels that don’t kill my feet. DSW here I come....LOL.
Black dress (and pearls) are always elegant looking, but seems strange for a wedding, I agree. Recently I saw a young woman wearing a strapless white dress to her son’s wedding and it really stunned me. She looked beautiful but wearing white and out shining the bride is a no no.
I agree that wearing heels makes a big difference. If you’re going to be dancing, tuck some flats in your purse, lol.
Yes, I’d sure steer clear of white at a wedding. Although I’m so old no one would even think I’d attempt to outshine a bride. lol.

When Deng Jinjie saw people struggling in the water of the Sunshui River in the Hunan province of China, he didn’t just walk by. In an act of heroism, he jumped into the water and helped save four members of a family. Unfortunately, the family left the area while he was still in the water. Sadly, Jinjie, exhausted from his rescue efforts, was overwhelmed and swept away by the river current and drowned.
When we were drowning in our sin, Jesus Christ gave His life to come to our aid. We were the ones He came to rescue. He came down from heaven above and pulled us to safety. He did this by taking the punishment for all of our wrongdoing as He died on the cross (1 Peter 2:24) and 3 days later was resurrected. The Bible says, “By this we know love, because [Jesus] laid down His life for us” (1 John 3:16). Jesus’ sacrificial love for us now inspires us to show genuine love “in deed and in truth” (v.18) to others with whom we have relationships.
If we overlook Jesus’ ultimate sacrifice on our behalf, we’ll fail to see and experience His love. Today, consider the connection between His sacrifice and His love for you. He has come for your rescue.
