I never did for hunting, but I took a single action .22 to wood shop to make new grips. No one cared.

In 2003, a .22 had fallen out of a 5th or 6th grader's pocket in the school's restroom. The female principal had sense enough to laugh and throw it in the trash. I suspect that was the last bit of common sense that was used by a school official.

I didn’t know a male who didn’t have a pocket knife at all times.

Oh yeah and every pick-up in the parking lot had at least one gun in the gun rack.
