If they ever find a gay gene, then will people get abortions if they carry a homosexual fetus? Many people abort Down’s syndrome babies, for example. Does the homosexual community really want us to go down that road?

Probably not. Conservatives are against abortion. Liberals would rejoice at knowing they would produce another Democrat.
Liberals would probably abort the straight ones and keep the gay ones. They like to be "cool", and they would all be looking for acceptance in their circle of friends by raising gay kids.
