I wonder if this will become the new norm for air travel.

The only person on any airplane I’ve been on who reclines his seat is the guy sitting in front of me.

Short lived victory, the planes will probably be retrofit to squeeze in another row as a result.

oh fer ... the existing seats may be unacceptable because they recline in a not quite upright/not quite reclined position.
whoever designed them were probably the same ones that invented those washroom faucets that you bloody your hands on, trying to bang the electric eye thingy to turn the frikkin' water on.

On a flight of 1 or 2 hours I’d no problem with that.Anything longer...no thanks.

I’m old enough to remember airline flight before it became the “human cattle car”. (Although you were choking on cigarette smoke).
But I’m also old enough to remember how expensive it was (relative to what I made).
These days any domestic trip under 1000 miles I’m driving.

Looks like I am in the minority here. I recline as soon as I can because the seats are too uncomfortable in their straight up position. My mentality is that I own the entire space where recline is possible, as does the person in front of me.

It comes after surveys revealed that nine in ten travellers wanted reclining seats banned... The truth is that 9 in 10 want the guy in front of them to not recline their seat, but they probably still want to recline their own.
If everyone reclined their seat, then what's the problem?
