Which is why, going back to our discussion of yesterday about electing the most electable conservative, the unappeasables candidates of choice do not have a prayer of being elected. VA is center now, it was center-right, but has been trending center-left. Ken Cuccinelli was a fantastic conservative candidate, who was demonized for this conservative stands and defeated, albeit narrowly, by the carpetbagger, for governor. The country is at best center-right. Because of what happened in VA’s gov race, i have grave doubts that anyone vetted by the unappeasables would be able to be elected in a national race. TN is always going to go red, but they have very few electoral votes, so they are largely irrelevant. TX has a goodly number, but even TX isn’t as conservative as it once was.
Cooch’s problem wasn’t his conservatism, it was the establishment not willing to invest in getting him elected. That’s their fault entirely. The only reason my state has gone red is from diligent campaigning and the fact that the rest of the state outweighs Nashville and Memphis, which are deep blue in all things.
No place is as conservative as it once was due to the Dems, who pollute the big cities, then they move on to conquer safer places with their foolish liberal lifestyles. Not only are they no longer safe conservative voting zones, they bring crime with them. Their policies failed in the big cities, but they still cling to them.
