It’s funny how standards have changed over the decades. “Victory at Sea” replays on A&E were staples of my youth, and were rife with misplaced and overused footage. Don’t even get me started on a lot of the WWII films (M48s as Panthers/Tigers and Chaffees as Shermans in Battle of the Bulge) and TV shows ( Baa Baa Blacksheep ... ‘nuff said)
I thought Winds of War/War and Remembrance were very well done series considering the time they came out. Wouk’s writings were very detailed, and the series did an excellent job of adapting the books.
