Anyone who makes a false accusation must get the same penalty that the falsely-accused one would have gotten.

Even if it had been true it is not illegal to write what was supposedly written on the receipt.

There was no threat in the statement, so there would have been no punishment.

There is probably noting illegal about what the waitress did either. Maybe libel because the patrons name was shown. But you’d have to prove that she intentionally libeled that particular person. She probably didn’t. She probably didn’t care whose receipt she wrote that on, it could have been anybody. So there would be no case there either.

Unfortunately for her and RL she chose a person who is willing to fight back. Most people probably wouldn’t have bothered. Yeah for him!

I hope that woman gets some kind of punishment but I doubt she will.

There is so much bearing false witness going on these days ... there needs to be some repercussions from doing it.
