I suppose it is just human nature to want to blame someone (or something) else for the murders committed by one's own son, followed by his suicide.

Yes, it is probably natural enough. But that does not make it correct.

The problem is the where they are placing the blame. The implication is that the guns were at fault as well as his mental illness.

Whether or not his parents tried to help their son, I do not know. One thing is for certain; their son owned three guns, appeared to have a psychological problem, had never been kissed, was a virgin, and expressed hatred toward women. He killed and injured innocent people today using his guns, a knife/knives, his own car, and committed suicide.

My condolences to all of the victims and their families.
