What’s the cut-off point of being an official scientist? Could a kid with a community college degree....get the title?

They should make it at least as strict as the Union of Concerned Scientists, which is that no degree is required at all.

Signatories are approved for inclusion in the Petition Project list if they have obtained formal educational degrees at the level of Bachelor of Science or higher in appropriate scientific fields.

All of the listed signers have formal educations in fields of specialization that suitably qualify them to evaluate the research data related to the petition statement. Many of the signers currently work in climatological, meteorological, atmospheric, environmental, geophysical, astronomical, and biological fields directly involved in the climate change controversy.

I don’t know about the Community College Degree, but I know you meet the qualification if you are a Democrat Politician or someone with a financial stake in “Green Energy”, which may be the same person.
