This was an unfair contest. The angle of the tow bar is so extreme that it pulled the John Deer’s rear end up off the ground enough to cause it to loose an enormous amount of traction.
Nonetheless, I still love the old steam-powered technology.
Both need the same tires and loaded with same weight with something to mitigate the tow bar angle....
That is a small John Deere tractor; a compact class, with a high gear ratio. Hook that steamer up to a large field JD, 400 hp in low gear and front wheel assist, and the JD will drag it around the track, hands down.
