Another crime of white privilege. We never learned to swim as kids because the nearest pool was fifty miles away and cost too much. That made basic training interesting. Learning how to swim with a DI screaming at you isn’t fun. Without any water, none of us drowned anyhow. Live in the desert.
Yeah, when I was growing up as a privileged white child all we had to swim in were ponds. You learned to swim so you could stay in the deep end where your feet didn’t touch the muck on the bottom. Being white we were also privileged to have inner tubes.
