Did anyone watch tonight's season finale of PERSON OF INTEREST? It basically showed that nothing can be done to stop the NSA.
“I understand. To stop the NSA youd have to stop a lot of billionaires and millionaires and politicians owned by them.”
Maybe just one politician.
I’ve watched this show since it began. It is one of the three shows I record.
I agree it seems awfully close to reality, and like others said more of a documentary than science fiction at times. The evilness which seems to abound at all levels of the government could be taken from today’s headlines.
I’m not sure about this year’s final show. I’m glad vigilance is gone, got tired of them. The main Descima guy reminds me of Darth Sidious of Star Wars - a manipulator with pure evilness where his soul should be. I guess we’re stuck with him in the show at least through next season. It will be interesting to see how the show plays next year since the team has been split up with new identities.
Glad “Bear” was given a little more action time.
My wife believes this is being done with government approval because they want us to know whats coming.”
Interesting theory. I pondered about Snowden for a bit. I’m sure he’s working for some government, I think the question is which one - the shadow government, Russia’s or the U.S. Or maybe all of them. We’ll likely never know for sure, at least not in my lifetime.
Excellent post, sir. These are also my favorite programs. I also share your analysis of the programs and will miss Ralph Wait. I also want Ziva back on the program.
Tuesday night is my only TV night and the rest of the world has to go away from 7 to 10 p.m. IMO, the writers did such an awesome job weaving the relationship between Gibbs and his father into the segment. Just a real feel good hour.
“Just wish they would bring Zeva back.”
I do too, her replacement sucks!
Zeva just seemed to make the team complete. Chemistry with the new gal just isn’t the same. Still makes me curious though as to whether she and Tony will end up together. Maybe next season’s surprise?
I was flipping back and forth between CBS (Person of Interest) and PBS because I wanted to see both shows. PBS Frontline story revealed much, was surprised how much they expose the corruptions within government/NSA. The follow-up should be good too.
Yes, I watched frontline tonight. A friend called to tell us this was on. Very informative, shocking and sad for those who were harrassed and punished for thinking we were the same country we grew up in.
Part II is on Frontline, next Tuesday. I am interested in seeing the Snowden story laid out.
The globalist end game won’t be quite this clinical, but what we need to watch most carefully is the calculated conflation of conservatism and fascism as pretext for internet surveillance. What that means is, be very aware of small or subtle moves to link conservative causes and extremist forms of white supremacism because the globalist objective is to make this connection so firmly established in popular culture that conservatism itself will become an extreme position, and thereby will be as open to state surveillance and intervention as extremist activity is already. Even part of that is unconstitutional, but the next phase will be far worse. We already have this further advanced in Canada despite a more nominally conservative government — the real government in Canada is to some extent a permanent unelected elite that is well to the left of public opinion. Despite the fact that you have a more defined-progressive government, your actual position is somewhat more free thanks in part to greater numbers (of actual conservatives) and to a more robust constitution.
People just like yourselves reading this in the U.S.A. are already losing their civil liberties, their homes and life savings, through lawfare in Canada. The aim is to silence the more aggressive opponents of the globalist agenda (in particular, the Islamist and gay rights components) so as to intimidate the others into silence. The political party has already been neutered. While there is a trace of apparent conservatism in the Canadian government’s economic policies, their capitulation to gloablist objectives in other areas is both apparent, and lamentable.
One comment on the show itself, the “good guys” may be preferable to the other factions but they are not libertarian conservatives. I see them as the sort of people who would back civil liberties to some extent but back away from any larger confrontations with the globalists, sort of neo-cons with a conscience. Were there ever any such persons in the real world? It appears not.
You do know about the Utah Data Center (UDC), don’t you? And that the NSA is building a second new facility about two-thirds of its size in Maryland, too?
She is married.
There is a chain of command and there are purse-strings. And there WAS one person that could have put them on a leash, Rand Paul.
But now he’s too busy trying work out an Amnesty “compromise”, getting FELONS the right to vote, and ending Voter ID because it hurts the feelings of 5-time voter minorities that somehow manage to access $50,000 worth of government goodies every year without ever having an ID to prove who they are.
So, yes, we’re toast.
I caught the end of it and it peaked my interest....when is it on next, I can’t find it?
I know it’s not what we want to have happen - but to put it into perspective - the book of Revelation states very clearly about the Mark of the Beast, no man rich or poor, great or small, can buy without the mark.
HOW do you think that will happen? By this coming to fruition. It indeed is a scary thing to know God’s prophecy is happening. I believe shows like this ARE frog-in-boiling-pot - slowly conditioning us to inevitability - so that those that remain will (almost) powerlessly accept. They will STILL have a choice.
That was the season finale for Season 3. The first two seasons are available on the net. Start at the beginning and you will have a better grasp of what this season finale finished and be ready for Season 4.
As with any series, there are a few “dud” episodes, but not many. Story arcs are long and involved, some are finished, some are not.
For us, POI is “must see” TV.
LSAggie (posting on hubby’s account)
Great pic of what I consider the best “family” on TV. Thanks for sharing. Did you mean Tuesday night instead of Monday? At least that is when the BIG 3 are on my TV schedule.
Just seemed like Ziva left about the time BO and Kerry stepped up their non-support of Israel. I know that I like so many others have a tendency to look for deeper meanings of events so maybe it was just a coincidence.
The CBS site requires me to download MPlayer to watch. Is there another option osagebowman?
