I wish some Freeper would do a guns of Life Below Zero post. Sue took down a bear with from my layman’s eye looked like some large caliber AR type gun.
She got a sister?
As I understand it the husband has some kind of weapons charge and he can’t do that stuff.
There are also tribal restrictions that apply to him and not to her.
What was the moose doing with the mosin? LOL
They were both shooting at game in other shows, iirc.
“What was the moose doing with the mosin? LOL”
Moosin’. What else?
Hailstone’s conviction stems from an incident in mid July, 2011 in which he alleges a state trooper physically assaulted his then 17-year-old daughter and then took actions that left his family in fear of bodily harm.
According to an indictment handed down by a Kotzebue grand jury, Hailstone was charged following a July 13, 2011 incident involving another family in Noorvik in which Hailstone claimed a resident had pointed a rifle at his daughter after an altercation involving his son, Jonathan Carter, and several others.
During the subsequent interview with troopers, Hailstone admits tensions flared in regard to actions that should be taken in regard to injuries his son had suffered. At one point during the interview, he said his daughter extended her arm toward Trooper Christopher Bitz while talking. The trooper, he said, responded by grabbing her right hand and moving to put her into a submissive hold.
Possibly.
I also think that women and men are equal on the range.
Enjoyed the show last season. Life on the edge, where nature is the prime adversary.
Bear With A Mosin Nagant

my fav i think is the couple down on the river and the trapper dude...
Sue Aikens in Kavik
Susan Aikens is the owner of Kavik River Camp in Alaska. Susan’s Fame stems from three television shows. She was on Sarah Palin’s Alaska when Sara went hunting for caribou.
Sarah Palin kills a caribou
Love this show! I like ALL the characters in this Alaska show. I’ll bet Hailstone was justified in both cases. Don’t mess with MY family!!!
Most recent show they take their youngest daughter for her first moose kill. I have no problem with that, age not an issue, but it was CLEAR that she was unfamiliar and certainly not proficient using a firearm. It would seem to me, that safety and shooting skills can be taught at any age and should be done BEFORE you let them participate in the actual shooting of game. Must have been the TV producer’s idea.
Poor, you say? 22 ammo is dirt cheap. Well worth the expense for proper training. I have also noticed that Agnes hasn’t been as proficient with firearms either. She hasn’t looked comfortable with the rifle and is not a great shot. She has improved, but she didn’t look as natural as I would expect for someone who supposedly hunted all her life.
Eric on the hand, is quite proficient as are all the Kilcher men. (Alaska: The Last Frontier)
If you don’t even know how to shoulder a rifle, you are a novice.
