Who watches the Olympics anymore? Any of the judged events are just politics and not necessarily based on actual performance.
Like almost everything else this has been ruined thru politics & greed.
I had three wishes as a child: to see the Olympics in person, to have a symphony performed by the Philadelphia Orchestra, and to retire on the moon. I got the first, in Atlanta in '96, and for all practical purposes I have not watched the Olympics since. The other two will never happen. OTOH, NBC might very well not exist in 2032; for that matter, the Olympics might very well not exist in 2032--they certainly won't exist in their current incarnation.
