Yeah, make that least expensive bread.

I made some peanut butter cookies the other day from a new jar. No one touched the jar since. Made some more cookies today and didn’t have enough so had to make do with what was in the jar. I’m also adding an extra egg in recipes because what is “large” by today’s standards is what used to be “small”. Soon, they’ll be labeling quail eggs as extra large. I’ve also noticed canned cat food is getting smaller. I use old nut and bean dip plastic lids to cover cat food cans for the fridge but the lids are fitting loose on this last purchase of 9 Lives (?). Everything is more expensive and in smaller containers.

Back in the day, we’d get turkey eggs for free because the neighbor farmer couldn’t commercially sell the double yolks. Those certainly didn’t take a dozen or more to make breakfast, lol. I’d sneak a few to my room and let them dry out in the shell (still have a box of them!). The yolks would settle on one side so they’d wobble when you rolled them across the floor. Yep, as said up thread, I’m easily entertained. That’s also the farmer who had a milk cow but only used the cream for her morning coffee and gave us the rest. My oh my, real milk is right up there with tomato sandwiches!
