Not a fan of Danica but I can’t blame her for that one. One of those racin’ deals.

What is the general average speed for this race for the restrictor plate? And why not let the cars race as fast as they are able?
To: ican'tbelieveit
This isn’t right! I’m watching Jack Bauer instead of the race inset!

Thanks. I remember watching a few races when I was a child and I seem to recall cars going close to 220MPH? Is that right? Why back down from that if cars handle better and the track barriers are safer? Sorry for all the questions.
To: rabidralph
No problem.
Bill Elliot Hit 212+ and NUSTCAR went into panic mode.
I heard yesterday on the Busch race that somebody hit 250 on a Track Rental w/o a plate!

Lap speed should be just under 200 mph, probably 194-196 range on new tires slowing during a run.

I do know Tim Richmond went 247 at the Ohio Transportation Research Center (7.5 mile oval) back in the late 80s. And that was about 200 hp ago.

Thanks. Two-hundred would be pretty cool to see on these cars again.
