I think what JACC are saying is that they trust the INMARSAT data and analyses.
And this sighting in the Bay of Bengal is not within the parameters of the INMARSAT 811 Arc and therefore not worth going after.
But no one is stopping the Malaysians — go for it.
Look again - it should be pretty close to the first arc they put out before they got on message.
