Agree 100%!!!!!

Jesus of Nazareth has the most stunning Crucifixion scene; the “elders” remark that Jesus is TEACHING from the cross when He says “My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me? ( Jesus is teaching, even from the cross, from Psalms 22—which fortold of the Crucifixion 1,000 earlier down to the details of the soldiers gambling at the foot of the cross for his robe.)

Besides being visually stunning, I don’t remember another Bible film making a point of the “elders” pointing out the fact that Jesus was teaching even while on the cross.

“Even now, nailed to the cross, he quotes the scriptures.”

When I was a kid, the ‘Eloi, Eloi, lama sabbach thani’ made me think, “Wow, he really didn’t see this coming.”
When the time he spent earlier this evening made it seem so real and him seem so human: “I really don’t want to do this thing, not sure what exactly what it is, but it can’t be good, they’re itching to get at me, so if You can give me a pass ...” But no answer. His own Son. So God let Abraham off the hook, but not Himself.
He had to impress us? Himself? How were we to blame for that horrible day? Because of an earlier disagreement over fruit trees?
I don’t think any of them saw it coming, and looking back, it doesn’t, none of it makes much sense. But Hollywood always sorts things out, so yeah, The Robe.
