I pinch off suckers all the time. It doesn't hurt the plant. I haven't tried removing all the leaves except 3 on the lateral clusters. That would seem to be counterproductive. Seems that way to me, too, but since I have over 53 tomato plants, I put six of the mystery tomatoes under the knife. They look naked. Will see what happens to them compared to their fully leafed brethren.

First of the catnip leaves came into the house today. One per cat.
They attacked them with relish, as usual. And then afterwards, sitting about 1 ft from each other, they took turns smacking each other in the head (hard) once about every 30 seconds to a minute between whacks.
It wasn't a fight. It wasn't friendly. I don't know what I just saw.
But it was pretty funny.

We'll see how my tomatoes do this year. That last freeze topped several plants. Now, they are spreading out at the bottom and turning into bushes. I hope it won't affect overall growth and production.
53 tomato plants?????
