LOL Nice play on the WFTD. A+++
the story in the other link about Pope John Paul 2, being found alone and cradling the tabernacle in his private chapel, crooning a Polish lullaby, distraught at not being able to comfort the Lord, just totally moved me to tears.
The Cross is the sign of God's great Love for mankind,
and the seal of our Redemption on Easter Sunday ...
Yes, it was touching.
Yes. Beautiful picture. A+++
House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi (left) prepares to pour water on the feet of Yamile Cruz, 10, with the help of Bishop Marc Andrus during a Holy Week foot-washing ceremony at Saint John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in San Francisco.
To "honor the dignity and work of immigrants," Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi helps Bishop Marc Andrus wash the feet of two children Thursday at Saint John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in San Francisco.
Pelosi also used the occasion to talk about passing HR15 - bipartisan immigration legislation that her office says would "reduce the deficit by nearly $1 trillion, secure our borders, unite our families, protect our workers and provide an earned pathway to citizenship."
The Democratic leader's ceremony coincides with Pope Francis' similar ceremony in Rome to mark Holy Week. As he did last year, the pope broke with the tradition of washing only priests' feet during the Mass for the Last Supper - this time, washing the feet of disabled people.
Remember DH’s brother with stage 4 prostate cancer? He has just been dropped by the drug study he was in. His cancer appears to have spread to his liver with several spots found there. I heard he is hoping to get chemo next. I fear for him, this is not a good turn. His youngest son is getting married this summer and he is looking forward to it. This will be the first of his four children to marry.
My own DH, had a biopsy scheduled to check on his prostate cancer. It was less than a week after my scheduled knee surgery so I told him to move his biopsy up, instead he moved it back to July. RME He has a volleyball tournament and can’t miss that.
I am having a sad day here. Appropriate, considering it is Good Friday.
oh no...
Sadly, your poem is nicely done
When you have adoration do they not expose the host? Last night, they did not, but they called it adoration. I had asked Fr. Brian how it would work and he evaded my question, I see why now.
Note that this foot washing ceremony occurred in the EPISCOPAL church and that is an EPISCOPAL Bishop. I wonder how far Bp. Cordileone will allow her to stray?
I glossed right over that, how appropriate. Is this a branch that embraces gay marriage I wonder.
My son had an old school kindergarten teacher as well. Lots of tears and hurt feelings that year, but I survived... no wait, I meant him. I helped a lot that year in her classroom - and almost all of those kids were reading before Christmas, the highest level of booklets in her room were on a 3rd grade level and 7 children, including my son, reached that by May. Did I mention there were a lot of tears that year?
Interesting. I had a bad 3rd grade year with a teacher who would not let you go home at night until you corrected every single mistake you made in any classroom work, homework, or tests. I can recall walking out of there crying one night. I had a headache and was too miserable to deal with it. On the front sidewalk I puked my guts out. Turns out I had a fever when I got home. My mother was furious.
Oh, that was heart wrenching and beautiful
Oh that makes me sad, even though you are no longer that sick little girl.....
sorry about your sadness, but yes, it’s appropriate. will continue to pray about your husband and his cancer.
I have seen that before - might have to try one this summer for our patio! lol
