I’ve been doing some research on the effects of mj and they are far, far from benign. Just as bad as over use of alcohol if not more so. Most people who commit crimes are on drugs and/or alcohol but usually drugs are involved, and most often, mj. It is far, far from benign.

And now it is hybridized to be so potent it’s completely unlike the stuff people smoked in the late 60s/70s. Can’t even compare.

Pot's most pernicious aspect is that the effects of intoxication ARE relatively benign. It is possible to stay intoxicated nearly 24/7 for years, while operating at around 60% capacity. Staying drunk at a similar level will result in health problems, and probable legal issues, that cannot be ignored.

All the while, however, pot is causing subtle, but significant, harm to one's mind. For someone of high intelligence and strong emotional constitution, these effects can probably be overcome. For more normal people, there will be consequences.
